Election Notice for County Officials in 1886 Precincts

Voting precincts with boundaries are set by the Board of County Commissioners. The county clerk notes an election open from eight in the morning to five in the afternoon on the date dated September 30, 1886. Precincts include John Shermer's, Gayton, Winchester, Cherry Grove, Williamsport, Glanavon, McEldery building Winona, and Bakker with respective town and range descriptions.

Prairie Fire Burns Hay On Goose Lake Farm Losses Reported

The past week saw heavy prairie fires around the neighborhood with limited damage except the case of Williamsport man Thomas Bottomley. His Goose Lake hay contract burned, destroying baled hay and his two harness horses. Additional losses to Caldwell boys and L A Couch were reported later.
