Dr and Mrs T W Welsh began housekeeping in new suites above the drug store. Editor Shepard of the News left for Greenville Pa to visit his ailing father as Roy Betzer returns from Michigan expressing North Dakota as his home. Aug Hanson of J I Case visits John Melander and A Rolling of the Palladium with P White. they bring back goose tales and twenty one geese. Emmons county sportsmen shoot on Missouri river bottom with future deer prospects. QO Johnson returns from Chicago with fat cattle. H W Allen visits Jamestown expo. Mrs Allen and Miss Lucile stay with Michigan friends. A twelve pound son arrives for Peter G Levine, Kin tire. mother and child well.
Local notes cover Nick Graham’s repair work in Hazelton and visits by H D Smith from Alberta. B Skinner family moves in for winter schooling. new gas-lit post office, well-lit Geil store, and Frank Irvine installs a plant. Adolph Anderson visits. Coventry and Eyes return from a Missouri deer-hunt. W L Yeater opens a modern steam-heated hotel with bath rooms and fine workmanship.
Correspondence reports wind mills on farms in south Maine and a new team of horses owned by John T. Downing. Families move, weddings loom, a birth, and social events at Drayton and Briggs. A European tour talk and a church supper raise funds for an organ. Community updates and local visits mark the week.
A North Dakota notice recalls Tom Jones promising January payment. Also an auction ad details a mooley bull found near Hague with owner to prove property and settle charges. The Record Job Dept offers bilingual English German auction bills and other printing services.
The Lin torn Concert Band will give a dance at the Opera House Thanksgiving evening November 28. Music by the regular band orchestra. Everybody invited.
