Latest returns from Tuesday's elections show Republicans carrying New York by about 70 000, Ohio by 75 000, New Jersey by 10 000, Maryland by 15 000, Iowa by 100 000, and Utah by 3 500 with light turnout in the First competitor district. Alex Macdonald elected by a 12 vote plurality. McLain few votes despite declaring not a candidate.
