Clarence White was found guilty of murder in the second degree and sentenced to ten years. The trial for the March shooting death of D. Sloan and R. Pratt was brief with jurors seated Tuesday and verdict delivered Thursday afternoon. Judge Crawford imposed the sentence soon after.
Emmons County Sunday School Convention met in Linton with representatives from all areas. The Methodist church was packed on Thursday afternoon as the event uplifted local schools. The Linton Boys' Band led the parade and played a concert, praised for aiding the county association.
