Today the mayor issued a proclamation prohibiting all public entertainments and closing the schools and churches. Several illnesses occur with uncertainty whether chickenpox or smallpox is responsible, prompting the order as health precautions in New Rockford.
Notice announces the next regular teachers examination and Reading Circle Work to be held at the court house in Linton on Thursday and Friday May 13 and 14 1915. Examinations start promptly at 8 90 a m and teachers must be present to write. All teachers without valid certificates or whose certificates expire before the August examinations must be present.
Pollock community brings updates from Dale visits and travels of Lou Stevens and Julius Martel. Roy Bales delivers cattle to J A Stiles at Ft Yates while Julius, now with Pioneer Life Insurance, studios in Emmons County. Harry Hinton and wife plan to settle in Ashley ND for a barber business. Fort Yates vs Pollock opens baseball season. roads improve, many locals beautify grounds, and a ball Sunday. Mrs Bales reports B underwent tumor surgery at Huron hospital and expects discharge soon. A. A. Pollock injures face fixing harness as four horse team bolts away.
Fifth grade pupils Ernestine Irvine and others receive certificates for three months of regular attendance. Fourth grade reports mumps affecting attendance. Fifth graders Clara Bechtle Ernestine Irvine host a birthday party. List of fifth grade students with perfect attendance for April ends with several names.

Kenneth Dixon recovers from measles as Braddock gardeners and housecleaning pick up. Visiting Thomas Song of Napoleon at Mrs. O. M. Vie home. Esther Junge and Evelyn Danford trip to Bismarck to visit Mrs. Danford. Jas. Neilson of Moose Jaw arrives in Braddock, guest of E. I. Savage. F M Long and Hulda Munson auto to McKenzie. Woodman Hall party with lodge members, wives, and ice cream. Braddock Ball team opens at Moffit May 2 at 2 pm with a lineup: Barton Rott Curry Hagen Dixon May infield. Lesher McCaffery Anderson Junge outfield. Dwire McLachlan Anderson pitching.
Hazelton notes a busy week with Kinney visiting from Brad dock, county-seat trips by Asch and Hatzer, post office move plans, and trips by Martin Goss and Mrs S A Mikalson. Local road work, ball practices, auto arrivals, and social visits color the town scene. Ties to nearby towns include Aber deen and Napoleon. Several residents travel to Bismarck and Sabin for events and recuperation.
Weather foul but management blitzes on signing seventy seven pitchers and catchers. Bids canvassed, line on material secured, and new uniforms ordered. Reamer to shape the diamond as finances are bolstered by town donors. Several games already scheduled for the opening week.
Ft. Yates Facts notes new rooms ready at A A Osburg home to house ten or twelve. Dan Urell and John Elroy moved teams to J A Stiles farm across the river. Fort Yates and Farm School tied to play on Sunday with Fort Yates winning 7 to 3½. Standing Rock land seekers flood in ahead of Indian lands sale May 5.
