Homes for Visitors at the World's Fair in Chicago

The Northern Pacific Railroad offers low excursion rates to Chicago and daily through sleeping cars. A booklet titled Homes for Visitors to the World's Fair lists about 9,000 private families willing to house visitors May 1 to Oct 30, with names, addresses, room counts, hotel listings, and twelve city maps for locating accommodations. The booklet costs 50 cents and can be obtained at station agents.

Official Proceedings of Emmons County Board April 29 1898

The Emmons County Board of Commissioners met in Williamsport with all members present. Wiley Wilson asked to reconsider granting bills for Glencoe bridge grading. the board refused. They discussed 1893 assessments, sent Mrs. Martin Schutt for hospital care in St Paul, authorized six road scrapers, and approved several fire wardens bonds and numerous bills for jail, road work, and official duties. The newspaper notes also include the Timber-Culture law instructions and a brief farm implements notice.
