North Dakota column notes a Chicago dispatch misread as Poles for Japan about Polish Americans aiding Japan, a Mayville man observing a meteor near Devil's Lake, and a wry remark on game and prohibition laws in Ramsey County.
Censored reports from the War across Asia show limited detail with rumors favoring Japan and Port Arthur bombarded. In Morton county a political row centers on Tuttle and Ramharter linked to the Pioneer and Republican papers. Governor White defends his third term stance amid calls for militia and scrutiny of county tax sales.
Deputy Sheriff Stiles arrested Amys Henderson, a former Linton printer, on charges of personating an officer and taking about 200 from J J Gudem. Gudem and brother alleged to have paid Henderson for safe keeping. Paul Seer jailed for violating the prohibition law. Deputy Sheriff Jones and Dick Evans arrested Guy Allen and Andrew Tuntland for stealing hardware. Henderson and Seer appeared before Justice Wagher. Seer had no attorney.
The Henderson case moved to Justice Wescott with the accused held to district court in bonds of 8500. Allen and Tuntland were before the same justice and continued to today with Farrington for Allen Armstrong for Tuntland and Lynn prosecuting.
The United States Supreme Court rules Northern Securities Company restraint of trade and must dissolve. Justices Harlan Brown Brewer McKenna Day dissent. Fuller White Peckham Holmes in majority backing the merger’s end. Stock to be exchanged among three forming companies. Roosevelt and Knox praised. Minnesota Gov. Van Sant calls it a great People's victory.
A well attended ball at O’Bermeier’s hall honored Erin’s patron saint. Local Milesians Dr. Welsh, Robert O’Petrie and William McHaas decorated the hall. Musicians included Mrs. L A McWeatherby, Patrick Hasselstrom, William Q O’Irwin and Mike Stoddard. The evening stayed merry until a chase of a man in King James colors interrupted events. Denny O’Bermeier praised the party’s spirits since leaving Dublin.
To the Editor the Record argues for a gopher bounty amid rising gopher numbers and grain losses. The writer notes previous wolf bounty reductions and urges lawmakers to pass a statewide gopher bounty to protect stockraisers and the Flickertail State's agriculture.

The hearing will be held April 23 1904 before Charles S Co Beate Commissioner at his office in Linton North Dakota.
March 18 to April 22 notice that Johannes Joseph Dux will make final proof April 24 1904 before Peter G. Rooks Clerk of District Court Emmons County N Dakota at Linton ND for the south half of the southwest quarter and other described lands. witnesses Anton Dirk Michael Brach Jr Ludwig Muller listed. applicants Strasburg and surrounding areas.
