Tornado Sale? Damage Reports From District Storm
A drenching Friday storm swept the district with heavy wind and two inches of rain in twenty minutes. Farms south of town reported damaged buildings, including a coal house moved off its foundation and a boat lifted over a house. Damages at Chas Bush and Joe Kregerbeck barns totaled about 700 and 300 respectively, with Hot Dries structures near 1000 insured. Home damages included the Aldrich residence roof and strawberry plants, plus extensive destruction east of Kintyre. In Mason City, Cotton returned with two cars of cattle escorted by 1 Lt. Scrogin.
