Patterson paper defends Streeter on convention tickets
A letter defends Streeter against claims he peddled tickets at a Democratic convention. The writer, asserting Democratic readers and county reporters will corroborate, says he attended every Democratic convention and ran for office as an independent Republican only when not backed by a Republican nomination. He insists he never compromised Republican doctrine, vows to vote for an honest Democrat over a faulty Republican, and condemns Patterson for alleged impropriety tied to a likely plot involving a Democratic nomination for a minor county post.
