The Linton Reds defeated Hazelton 9 to 1 in the third win of the season and the first away from home. Hazelton showed a ragged defense, while Linton hit hard with fifteen total safeties led by Flanagan who added three hits in four appearances.
Hazelton committed two errors while the Reds allowed just two scores in their last two games. Kell nearly homered, Burke and Flanagan contributed, and Mr. King of Braddock caught for Hazelton. Hazelton seeks a rematch with Mandan as R D Coonen umpired the game. Linton mascots Turner and Carmicheal drew praise for their uniforms. A streets speed issue in Linton prompts calls for enforcement as an auto speeds through town, while residents welcome evening traffic warranted by caution.
