The Dell Rapids Times criticizes Russian immigrants arriving in Dakota. It describes them as clinnish and filthy, poor farmers who seldom build valuable structures, and labels them socialists, anarchists, and toughs. The paper declares they are the poorest immigrant class seen in Dakota.

Preparations for a new mill near the elevator are under way by Van Hou ten Bros. & Little and Major State of Iowa. Bids are being sought for excavation with the mill set to produce 150 barrels of flour daily before winter.
