Republican platform shows Theodore Roosevelt for president with Charles W. Fairbanks as running mate. It lists judicial and state offices including Walter H. Winchester for judiciary, E. Y. Sarles for governor, and A. J. Gronna among others with nominees for attorney general and railroad commissioners.
Sheriff Shier and various residents were seen in Linton this week. Visitors from Hampton, Emmonsburg, Pollock, and Hazelton were noted, along with local tradesmen, a horse mishap injuring Elmer Ande, and plans for Braddock district meetings and construction at Dr Hogue’s pew building site.
Local notes report M. H. Hegge of Trailcounty nominated for governor at the Democratic state convention in Grand Forks. Other items include a six year old injury near Linton, a trepanned boy recovering, a big Leonard Murphy ranch visit, and a moving of Mr. Braddock’s house with a near-miss under telephone wires.
In convention speeches Cass Barnes and Stark counties opposed the combination. They argued opposition stemmed from not being in the bloc and urged a change in methods so county representatives need not join a coalition to serve state wishes. The piece contemplates Republican voters choosing Spalding or Gronna if doubt remains.

Luther Wescott of Linton Meat Market advertises first class beef mutton pork sausage and canned goods at low profit margins. He also sells fruits vegetables and a general line of groceries. Taken up mare described as a sorrel pony about ten years old and 700 pounds with a small white star, branded FP on right shoulder. Owner needed to pay charges and claim the animal. Contact Johann Wenning, Linton North Dakota, July 29 to August 2.
