North Dakota dispatches report a cyclone hitting a contractor camp near Alta six to seven miles north of Valley City. In Iron Mountain Michigan on July 24 a Swedish picnic party of thirty five was stranded when their scow sank in twelve feet of water at Spread Eagle lake during a storm. Train plunges into Diamond Lake near Camden
The westbound Great Northern express and its engine and smoking car derailed after rails split at a tunnel. Nine men perished with the engine crew while others were injured. A July thunderstorm in Manitowoc Wisconsin fatally struck the grand stand at Athletic park during a planned baseball game.
