DeGraff advertises across many apparel items with bundles priced at 1.00 per armful and shoes offering 25 percent savings. It touts men boys and children clothing plus undergarments and accessories with a vast stock and specials on trunks bags and travel goods.
The Williamsport Record reports on Emmons County tax collection tensions with the Northern Pacific Railroad over land grants and county officials resisting tax dodgers. It names Fernald and Hughes in Burleigh and criticizes anonymous attacks from a McLean county figure, labeling Moffet a contemptible agitator in Bismarck.
Justice Sauter presided as H A Armstrong appearing for Jacob Gauger sought mandamus to force Auditor Braddock to transfer a deed with taxes due. Braddock defended himself after Armstrong served late. The court denied the writ and granted Braddock a further win on a writ of mandamus related to tax collection procedures.

The jury in the Defender case remained deadlocked after two days of deliberation with 11 voting for conviction and one for acquittal. The judge ordered venue changes to Burleigh County while Black Hawk and Defender were moved to Bismarck for trial, with next trials likely set for November or December.
After sixty hours deliberation the jury returned an unanimous verdict that they could not agree. Judge Sauter then dismissed the panel at 9:30 Monday morning.
