At Bismarck the Thistlethwaite vs Casselman case was filed over a pillared contract for Emmons county sheep. Casselman claimed he saved the flock and served fifteen months. Judge Winchester ruled the contract valid, appointed a receiver, and ordered property division with value near 2500 dollars and 500 dollars in debts. Casselman offered 800 dollars as settlement for his fifteen months of work.

The Cherry Grove School District board met at the clerk's office with President A B Peterson andDirector D H Yeater present. They organized the next year electing Peterson as president and H W Allen as clerk, levied a 500 dollar tax, approved refunding bonds totaling 2000 dollars in 15 year terms, and authorized loan advertising.
