Celebrations Mark Independence Day Across Emmons County

Emmons County observed multiple Fourth of July celebrations with parades races wrestling and dancing. In Examons Bune and Emmonsburg residents participated in readings speeches races including pony, free-for-all, and foot races, with prizes won by Barney Burbage, the Baumgarten and Pled Green horses, and contestants Eddie Coover Walter Kyes and Kelley. An evening dance featured Profs Whalen, Laverly, and Mr. Anderson.

Williamsport Independence Day Fails to Organize

On Independence Day in Williamsport a pleasant crowd gathered but lacked orderly plans. No start time or host for strangers. the schoolhouse stayed locked till after 3 PM. a makeshift rostrum formed from a bench as J N Roop opened exercises with the Declaration and D R Streeter delivered a brief address.

Races and a Woodmen Ball Close Williamsport Celebration

A lively Williamsport day featured pony and free-for-all horse races with Benz, Baumgartner, and Cotton entries, plus a ladies race won by Miss Vic Corey. Master Paul Kurtz led the boys in a fast foot race, delaying a baseball game. Evening festivities included a Woodmen ball with Laquee performers, midnight supper, and all-night dancing.

Me Too Ireland Confesses in Spicer Family Murders
