Farmers and stockmen excursion to Fargo College

Farmers and stockmen will leave Linton by N P train at 7 a m Tuesday July 19th, then Hazelton about an hour later, returning Friday. An extra coach joins the train. The trip funds a two day visit to the Agricultural College and Experiment Station to study farming and stock methods. Identification cards with names on back must be shown to ticket agents. First come first served up to fifty plus about ten extras. Both men and women farmers welcome. Round trip from Linton or Hazelton is 1 75. Those listed will depart from Linton or Hazelton with the excursion.

Linton Fourth Celebrations Go Smoothly Despite Heat

A large crowd celebrated Independence Day in Linton with decorative business fronts and festive events. Attorney H A Armstrong led the day and Rev J E McKinney offered prayer. D R Streeter read the Declaration in English and Peter Schweitzer in German. J H Wishek gave an informative address. Afternoon sports at the track and baseball park featured wins by Cloyd Kurtz on his horse, an Indian rider from Standing Rock winning the pony race, Roy Bales taking the cowboy race, and Richard Codwen winning the 100 yard dash. The program closed with bronco exhibitions, a band concert by the Linton Cornet Band, and dances in the photo gallery and bowery venues.

Tragic Drowning of Two-Year-Old in Westfield Tank

In Westfield last Thursday a two year old girl Hattie Renskers daughter of Mr and Mrs G W Renskers drowned after wandering from sight into a distant stock watering tank. The family grieves after earlier losses and sympathy pours in from the community. The First Bank of Linton North Dakota offers real estate loans on good farm lands for three to five years.
