Death of Hull resident Henry Van Soest in 1804 records

Henry Van Soest a Hull neighborhood resident and early settler in Emmons county died Thursday January 28, 1804 at his home Weleck. He was born January 9, 1843 in South Holland Netherlands and was twice married with six children. He settled in Emmons county in 1887 apart from two years in Maryland and endured long illness before death. Community memory recalls him as an upright neighbor and citizen.

Hague farmer reaps 200 bushel per acre potato harvest

Mr. Baker of Hague, who previously planted 58 acres, reports a yield near 200 bushels per acre. He has been digging and shipping the output to a Chicago dealer this week, with Mr. Wells selecting 20 tubers weighing 18 pounds each.
