Wahpeton District Reports 1905 Finances and New College Opening
The Wahpeton area reports a school district balance sheet for year ending June 30 1905 showing receipts of 2391 07 including cash on hand July 1 1904 and 508 08 from county tuition and 1304 08 from taxes and expenditures of 1782 10 leaving 8008 07 cash on hand. Indebtedness lists warrants 140 and bonds 800. Wahpeton New Business College will open Sept 20 in the State Science School Building under Prof Lewis H Vath. The college offers modern accounting and shorthand with campuses in St Cloud Sauk Centre and Alexandria Minnesota.

A Brand New Hardware Store Opens In Town
Within a few days Linton's new hardware store will be in full blast. John Hagg has the alterations to the Obermeier building pretty well finished. First installments of hardware will be placed on the shelves. The dining room, office and washroom are now one large store room. By next week Mr H will be ready to sell you anything from a shingle nail to a log chain.

Daily Train On Milwaukee Opens New Mail Routes
The Milwaukee daily train from Aberdeen will extend to Linton starting Monday August 21. It will arrive around noon and depart about 2 30 pm carrying mail. The change promises better mail service to Dale Hague and others in Emmons county and could improve connections to Arras Herreid and Pollock.

Young Boy Dies After Rattle Snake Bite Near Oak Creek
An eight year old son of William Taylor living near Oak Creek station on Standing Rock reservation died from a rattlesnake bite last Sunday. Despite efforts to save him, he did not survive. His mother is the daughter of Andy Marsh, early settler, now living in Campbell county South Dakota near the state line.
