Williamsport District Board Sets Levy and Warrant Policy

In a special session July 29 1893 the Williamsport School District No 6 board fixed a 10 mill tax levy and set treasurer and clerk salaries at 25 dollars. The clerk was tasked to see if local lumber firms in Bismarck would accept warrants at par to fund schoolhouse construction in Farrell neighborhood. Adjourned. Crops report notes Missouri Slope better than elsewhere and poor Red River valley yields.

Hampton reports mild summer weather with haying underway. Capt. Cotton visits Williamsport. James B. Gayton travels to Bismarck seeking care for his son Joe. Postmaster Hiram Fuller assumed duties amid hopes for stable administration. Several locals attend a peaceable legal case for citizens' welfare.

County Board Minutes Adjoin as Bonds and Fees Approved

Board met in Williamsport on July 29 1893 with all members present approving minutes of prior meeting and bonds. Treas. Talmadge P Lee secured ten thousand dollar bond with Little Hughes and Kendrick as sureties. Constable Frank H Parks bond two hundred dollars with Wescott McCrory sureties approved. Various bills allowed including roof repair sand and wolf bounties. Ferry license settlement discussed with Judge Winchester to decide. Board adjourned. County Auditor H A Armstrong signed. Notice of horses taken in Emmons County ends.
