Letter from The Record on Hanna and North Dakota officials
The Hazelton paper disputes a report about Hanna giving private funds for old soldiers. It explains the ten dollar payments came from a state soldiers home fund balance, while Hanna funded daily transport and camped with North Dakota troops during the reunion. The piece praises Hanna’s kindness and notes political tensions over a land board appointment and Burke allies.
