The firm proclaims a sweeping disappearance of $35,000 worth of dry goods ladies suits skirts millinery and footwear. The event promises record crowds as stock is offered at first cost. Doors open Wednesday October 14 at 9 am with circulars sent across the region.
The firm of Wm. 3. Black & Co. hires J. C. Pirath of Chicago to conduct a clearance of the entire stock. Pirath has run sales in major cities and through a large Chicago jobbing house, ensuring reliability. Every article will be sold at a cut price to help customers save money during the sale in Emmetsburg and surrounding country. The owner’s health necessitates climate change.
Large stock of wool dress goods and silks offered at fixed low prices. Lot 1 features all wool worsted fabrics up to 35c per yard, plus additional pieces. Lot 2 has 35 pieces plain and fancy weaves at 30c per yard. Lot 3 includes 65e to 85c cloths, new season stock at 49c per yard. Lot 4 presents top grades and newest weaves, formerly higher, now reduced. Umbrellas sold at $1.25 to $1.50 with coral and fancy handles.

In this lot are little gents and childrens good school shoes. They formerly sold at $1.50. Boys shoes start at $1.39, with the best boys shoes ranging from $1.75 to $2.00. Sizes up to 3 are available.
