Legion Membership Drive aims to enroll World War veterans
The American Legion drives to recruit members continues until the quota is met. State Commander W. Sam Hall will visit Fort Dodge and eight districts to collect signed cards for Des Moines headquarters. Veterans who served in the World War are urged to join and pay dues, and to help recruit others.

The Hanford Produce Station in Estherville was entered Friday night and 75 cents in cash and 16 pounds of butter stolen. The next morning the manager found the office littered with papers. the remaining cash was undisturbed.

Joe Jenks editor of the Bancroft Register died at 8 10 am after heart disease while returning from Des Moines. He was 59 and had led the paper with Ray Hutton for 21 years. Survived by wife and son Kermit 14, parents F S Jenks and Mrs Jenks of Ledyard, a sister Mrs Alice Jenkins of Omaha. He was born Sept 22 1879 in Sheldahl Town and was a Mason Shriner and two term Clerk of Courts of Kossuth County.
