The State Game Dept. appeals to live bait users and boat houses to conserve minnows as the fishing season opens. Minnow stocks in lakes and streams are dangerously low. Fishery men should not take more minnows than needed and dealers should limit sales to needed amounts. Excessive stocking before opening has led to thousands dying, wasting time and resources, and reducing food for game fish.
An appeal was filed in the state supreme court on behalf of Elmer Brewer and Pat Griffin of Waterloo both formerly of Graettinger who are sentenced to hang January 26 1934 on a murder charge in the shooting of Deputy Sheriff Wm Dilworth of Black Hawk County in Des Moines last week.
