Ruthven second grade instructor Miss Cleveland guided nineteen pupils on a railroad trip to Spencer for practical information on railroad transportation. The group traveled to Spencer by train and returned to Ruthven by auto. Only two pupils had ridden a train before, and the trip was both enjoyable and instructive.
The H. and E. H. Radio Service of Spencer installs new sound equipment in the Roof Garden at Arnolds Park. When completed the Roof Garden will have the finest sound system in Iowa.
Plans by Milwaukee road officials to run a booster train to lure Yowans to Christmas vacations at Okoboji and Spirit lakes. The route runs Des Moines Ottumwa Cedar Rapids and Spirit Lake via Rock Island with two bands, souvenir giveaways, five minute station stops, longer stops, and possible parades in larger towns.
