Readying events at Camp Dodge for the July Fourth spectacle with parades, athletic contests, and performances. Generals oversee arrangements as units train and compete in track, wrestling, jumping, and other demonstrations for the notable military history milestone.

A county meeting of thirty five farmers was held in this city at the request of Bert L. Franco to gather data on the cost of raising pork berg corn and dairy for US government figures. Albaugh from Washington attended. Farmers must keep records for months and report to the county agent for Ashaugh. Attendance and interest were satisfactory despite the busy season. Also noted was a planned October Liberty bond drive needing about six billion dollars. Banks are buying certificates of indebtedness in preparation. Farmers and producers are urged to economize.
