FPC approves Northern Natural Gas pipeline expansion
The Federal Power Commission endorsed Northern Natural Gas to build and operate facilities to transport up to 750 million cubic feet of gas daily from Montana. A 155 mile Té-inch pipeline will run from Havre to Canada, connecting with Trans-Canada and delivering to Emerson Manitoba and Carlton Minnesota. Cost near 28 million dollars. Emmetsburg Municipal Gas Works plans 124 000 cubic feet daily Montana gas for winter use.

Emmetsburg City Ordinance Adds Nuisance Clause
The Emmetsburg Iowa City Council enacts Ordinance No 199 adding a nuisance provision to Title EX Section P33. Violations may be abated within 72 hours after notice. the city may hire an abater and charge costs to the violator or their property. In force upon passage and publication. Mayor James M. Thompson signs. Public notice includes a June 30 1972 auction by the Emmetsburg Community School District for a two bedroom house in Cylinder Palo Alto County.
