Inferior to This Section on Southern Iowa Lands
Last week while traveling to attend the A O H state Convention we compared southern Iowa with our own section from Creston to Osceola and Des Moines. The country is hillier than expected, crops are backward, corn lagging, and small grain headed out. however clover is widely sown, valued for feed and as soil fertilizer. Northwest Iowa appears equal or superior. land ten to twenty miles south of Des Moines sells for 15 to 20 dollars per acre, yet remains hilly and inferior.

Clark for judge, while Palo Alto and others shifted votes, then switched to Bailie as ballots continued. The outcome relies on the county machine, with Buena Vista backing Clark and Kossuth signaling a broader strategic play. Subscribe for the Democrat.
