The Palo Alto county Iowa board of supervisors met June 1 1908 in Emmetsburg with all members present. They authorized a supplementary contract with Graettinger Tile Works to deepen drainage for the main drain and approved a bid of 1798.00 from W H Berkler for drainage district No 2. Engineer F H Fordyce was appointed with a 590.00 bond. Equalization hearings followed with property value adjustments including Emmetsburg and Fairfield township items.
The June 1 1908 minutes record a county board resolution authorizing a warrant to T J Duffy for dam cost as part payment upon completion, plus hearings on drainage districts 21 23 and 29, changes to upper lateral drainage and a 3 foot deep ditch from drainage district 16. The board adjourned to June 3 and then continued sessions through June 1908 addressing drainage district recommendations and numerous bill payments for election officials and poor_farm expenses.
