Flooded highway strands campers as lake steals route
The Whites recall a nighttime drive through a washed out road flanked by flooded campgrounds. Water roared past, rocks forced a perilous return to the nightclub area, and dawn revealed campgrounds on both sides and a bridge washed away. The couple met other survivors, including a Rapid City pair, and praised their families for calm support during the emergency.
