Farmer fined for illegal possession of migratory waterfowl
Willard Keerles, 59, of Mallard, was fined $25 and costs by Justice E S Ellis after admitting illegal possession of migratory waterfowl Canada goose. Officers Verl Holmes and Wayne Cord cited lack of federal permit and Iowa breeder license, noting the goose was injured and illegally kept. Holmes warned enforcement will be stepped up to protect migratory waterfowl.
