A blaze damaged the First Methodist clearch on North Broadway with losses estimated between 15000 and 25000 dollars. Lightning or a power wire arcing to the organ motor is suspected as the cause while firemen battled thick smoke and used gas masks to prevent total destruction. The alarm came at 8:50 am and Emmetsburg fire crews, aided by locals, kept the building from collapse as they cut openings and cooled the interior.

Services Will Be Sunday At Iowa Theatre

Army planes to perform at Emmetsburg Fourth of July
