Edmund Carmody 45 former bank cashier of Pocahontas died suddenly from a heart attack Monday morning in Pocahontas after visiting friends in Emmetsburg and Enunetsburg. Funeral in Pocahontas at Sacred Heart with burial in Whittemore. Survived by wife. brother George in Des Moines. sister Grace Carmody in Omaha. Local residents express sympathy across Palo Alto, Kossuth and Pocahontas counties.

4-H Rally Day to Be Held at Emmetsburg High
The Palo Alto 4-H Girls will present Rally Day Thursday June 8 in the Emmetsburg High School Auditorium. The program includes a full schedule with bugle calls, pledges, songs, and remarks by officers and guest speakers. Various corps and officers lead activities from registration in the morning to an afternoon parade and commissioning of new officers.

Stolen Auto Found On Ruthven Street Report
Special to Tike Democrat Ruthven June 1 An abandoned automobile was left near the residence of D. D. Waterman in the north Ruthven area last Sunday night. The sheriff was called to identify the vehicle and determine ownership. An employee of a nearby business had driven it after its discovery.

To Be Chaplain At Lake Okoboji Camp
Attending the Iowa District West Walther League convention at Camp Okoboji were Normand Wojahn as delegate and Irene Aihaelsen as alternate, both from St. Paul's Lutheran. Rev. A J L Ansorge reported on district work across ten zones. The Walther League, a Lutheran youth group, uses the camp now owned by the district since 1948. Rutledge Property Sold to A A Pettit in Emmetsburg
The Rutledge property one block west of the Alm and Indies market has been sold to A A Pettit. The estate of the late Mrs Daniel Rutledge included two houses and large lots. Daniel Rutledge bought the property in 1881 and was an early Emmetsburg lawyer who used the smaller house as his law office and library while the larger held the Rutledge family. A third house on the block later became home to Mr and Mrs C A Seigfried and was sold by the estate years ago.
