Emma Dewell 60 wife of W A Dewell editor of the Kossuth County Advance for 26 years died early Thursday at her Algona home after a period of ill health. She headed the Methodist Church Ladies Aid until illness. Survived by husband five sons Duane Gordon Bob at home Donald Iowa City and Dr B F Dowell Evanston IL one brother W B Patton Sioux City three sisters Mary Winters Regina Dan Mrs J E Raymond Le Sueur Minn and Mrs Hugh Smith Wabasha Minn Funeral services were held Saturday.
Kossuth officials were paid back salaries totaling 15530 dollars following the supreme court decision invalidating the 1929 salary outlaw. The board recorded 1550 dollars for town officers and 2345.36 dollars for the supervisors.

Willis McCarty left for Hobart Oklahoma to go into insutoroble business with his brother Fred. Rumor says Wille Rouse and Susie McCaint of Curlew wed February 22. Rouse bought the Jack Dolan farm to reside there.
