In Richmond Virginia newspaper clipping from May 13 1967 readers learn of a Des Moines Iowa report that 5 to 600 Indians crossed the Des Moines river near Fort Dodge on a Saturday causing fear of an attack and forcing people to seek refuge in Fort Des Moines amid widespread consternation.
