Two masked bandits halted an eastbound Denver and Rio Grande train near Military Junction within Denver limits. One guarded the crew while the mail clerk was forced to open the car. a second robber rifled registered mail, grabbed bags, and fled on foot with several thousand dollars in loot. Deputies and Fort Logan soldiers searched the foothills but found no trace.
