The Chicago Producers report January 1928 saw three records for volume of stock handled. They moved over 10 percent of market receipts that week, 18 percent of stock that week, and 419 carloads of hogs. January 1938 rail car receipts totaled 20,010, up 34 percent from 1927, with 38.2 percent of total yard consignments by rail and truck.
