Dr J P Shallenberger, Chicago specialist, will be at the Waverly House in Emmetsburg Iowa on Tuesday February 26 for a single day session. He offers private confidential consultations and promises high success for chronic conditions without surgery.
Camp Dodge Iowa reports a call for 74 000 new soldiers between Feb 23 and Feb 28 with 14 084 to report at Camp Dodge and 8 600 from Minnesota. Additional notes describe transport plans barracks readiness clothing and bedding supply and a focus on officer training exams at West Point.
The remount depot at Camp Dodge trains 550 enlisted horsemen for service across Iowa Minnesota North Dakota and part of Milneis. Daily needs include 116000 pounds of hay 22000 pounds of grain and 9000 pounds of straw. Deputies are indexing residences within five miles to aid authorities in case of trouble or discipline breaches.
