Officials report 211 students enrolled with 43 women and 168 men in the freshman class and 49 men 17 women in the sophomore class. Two dozen part time students. 119 district residents and 92 nonresidents. Three from out of state. Transfers from Iowa Kansas Nebraska. One evening class in session for the second semester. History of American Foreign Relations course active.

Funeral services were held at Assumption Church for Richard Melvin McCoy 48 of Minneapolis Minnesota and Emmetsburg son of the late James S McCoy He died January 29 at Swedish Hospital after heart surgery He worked as a baker for National Foods in Minneapolis for about 20 years He was born September 8 1921 in Emmetsburg and survived by his wife Gladys Johnson and daughter Mary Josephine plus four sisters and eight brothers Pallbearers included Jerry Hofstad and others Burial was in St Johns Cemetery Minneapolis Miller Funeral Home directed Further surviving siblings included Alfred James and Gerald McCoy and many others all attended except Gerald who was away.

City Council Targets Federal Low Rent Housing Priority
Emmetsburg officials plan to file a federally funded low rent housing application at the next council meeting. Two Graettinger Men Win Corn Contest
