Farmer Hurt As Car Rams Into Tractor
Ronald Ostwald a 28 year old farmer from Whittemore suffered severe injuries when a car driven by Robert Shutt of Fenton collided with his tractor on a county road near McDonald Brothers grave one mile from Ostwalds home. Ostwald was thrown from the tractor, nursing facial injuries, a fractured right leg and other body injuries. The tractor was wrecked and parts were scattered along the road. Shutt escaped injury and was questioned by Kossuth county officers. Ostwald was taken to Emmetsburg hospital by neighbors.

Soldier Jammer Carle to be buried after WWI death
The body of Jammer Carle, son of Mr. and Mrs. Solu Garlson, will arrive Monday in Graettinger for burial. He was killed in World War I and was the first Palo Alto World War dead to be returned from overseas. Burial services will be conducted by Martin Funeral Home. additional details were not available.
