Five Children Burned to Death in Council Bluffs Fire
Fire destroyed the Christianson residence on Sixteenth Avenue and Third Street at about 1 am. Mrs Christiansen and five children aged from five months to eleven years perished in the flames, with the husband away in the country. The origin of the fire is unknown. The house was wooden and burned rapidly before the fire department arrived.
