Death of Ruthven Foreman John Casey in Milwaukee Road accident
Saturday morning John Casey of Ruthven died after a hand car incident near a freight engine. He attempted to swing off and the locomotive struck him, causing fatal injuries. Casey left a wife and several children and was respected for his duties and risk to protect others.
