Peanut Day Raises Funds for PACARC in Alto County
Peanut Day in Alto County raised 43.67 for PACARC and 307.64 for the state association from the event run by Town Retail Hardware and Wigdahl Hardware. Mrs Harlan Place describes the Open Door School at 2005 Sixteenth Street Emmetsburg operated by the Palo Alto Association for Retarded Children. The Open House Oct 10 honored its naming by Mrs Walter High and Congressman Stanley Greigg. Ikes Buffalo Meat Sale Slated For Weekend
The Emmetsburg Izaak Walton League will sell 206 pounds of buffalo meat at Kunz Lockers Friday and Saturday. Art Weiland, in charge, said surplus meat comes from a government refuge buffalo bought at Valentine, Neb. Fourteen pounds go to the League's annual Buffalo Banquet in spring, with roasts steaks and hamburger offered at normal prices. The sale appeals to sportsmen who prize buffalo cuts as a special treat.
