Metsburg Opens Season After Reorganization

Paul Klieg caught well for Metsburg and Tiel Donovan played solid first base. This marked the first game for the team since a one year lapse in reorganization, with emphasis on pitching and fielding as they went down by the strikeout route.

Waverly Hotel Leases Space To Two Firms

Ed Doyle, operator of the Waverly and Kemore hotels, announced new leases for space in the Waverly to White and Pitcher plumbing and heating contractors and Runnings Furniture, starting May 1. The remodeling will move the lobby desk, with White and Pitcher occupying the ground floor center and basement, and Runnings using the west side. Existing first floor tenant Charles Myers, a barber, must move. new apartments are planned for permanent guests.

Mallard resident Schutze dies after twelve years

The Mallard community mourns MR. SCHUTZ a long time resident and business figure who ran a near market and locker plant from his Laurens home He was born to Frederick and Anna Maria Schutz and married Mildred Esther Emerick on December 3 1913 He leaves brothers and six grandchildren and was a member of Baton sonic lodge His death is deeply regretted locally.

Lake Dredging Progress and Depth Details
