Proof Positive Doctor Cures the Incurable at Estherville

An 1897 notice states Dr. Rea of Louisville will visit Buslittgtop Hotel Estherville on May 11 offering cures for grave ailments. It lists numerous patients across Iowa and Illinois shown to have benefited from his diagnostic method, including heart, catarrh, epilepsy, cancer, and nervous disorders, claiming remarkable outcomes after other doctors failed.

Public affidavit touts pain balm cure for rheumatism

Charles H. Wetzel of Sunbury Pennsylvania swears that on May 11 he walked into Melick's drug store on crutches and bought Chamberlain's Pain Balm for inflammatory rheumatism which crippled him. After using three bottles he was completely cured and declares the remedy recommended. The affidavit was sworn Aug. 10, 1804, by Walter Shipman J. P. Pain Balm is offered at 25 and 66 cents.
