Port Jervis N Y June 4 a brutal assault on Miss Lenk Mahon daughter of John Mahon was carried out by a negro named Bob Jackson. Witnesses described a mob of youths restrained by a revolver. Jackson confessed in custody and implicated William Foley. a mob seized Jackson and hanged him from a tree. Authorities failed to protect him as Foley remains at large amid fear of further lynching.
