A Tremont store owned by F W Lunt was broken into last week with small items stolen. Three youths aged fourteen to seventeen were implicated and arrested on a warrant for breaking into Packing Co store. Likely to be sent to the state reform school. A two story Green Lake dwelling near the depot owned by Maine Central railroad and occupied by John McDonald burned Friday morning. Fire started near the chimney and threatened the depot though bucket brigades saved it. Loss about 1090 dollars.

Concert and Ball for Hale Hose Company Impresses Few
Senator Hale hose company entertained last Thursday night with a concert and ball that drew praise for Mrs. W. A. Nelson's contralto yet fell short of prior shows. The trio The Wonder Workers failed to arrive fully, offering mainly banjo mandolin guitar and some bone and rapid crayon drawing. A large dance followed led by Chief Engineer Brown and his daughter. Monaghan provided music while R J Goodwin oversaw floor actions.

Railroad survey drafts two routes into Surry Village
A preliminary survey for the Hamcock county railroad at Surry village outlines two possible paths. One route runs north and west of the main road crossing Teddy pond road near the schoolhouse. The other follows the shore from East Surry near M M Morgan's place, crossing Mill stream, Morse's cove, and the highway between the Staples and Warren properties before turning toward Blue.
