Berlin dispatch reports outer defenses of Dvinsk under heavy attack as the city’s civil population evacuates. A battle for the Dyinsk bridgehead is imminent and Bavarians are said to have cut the Russian retreat route, though unconfirmed.
London reports a new budget with a forty percent rise in income tax and other heavy levies. Estimated annual revenue stands at 1.36 billion dollars with expenditures at 7.95 billion. The plan includes abolishing half penny postage and a fifty percent telegraph rate increase.
In Austin district court Robert Hogan county treasurer of Lander County pleaded guilty to misappropriating public money.
