First Elko Rodeo Day Proves Grand Success

The first day of Elko's Sixth Annual Rodeo drew a large crowd and high praise. Riders excelled in bucking, with several as skilled as the world’s best, while accidents were feared but few. Highlights included exhibition rides by Mrs. Williams and a sequence of prize events such as motor cycle race, calf roping, bulldogging, and bucking horse contests.

Death in Auto Crash Near Dutch Flat Colfax

H W Duncan of Winnemucca cashier of the Winnemucca State Bank and Trust Company was killed in an automobile accident on the road between Dutch Flat and Colfax. His car rolled on the grade crushing him beneath the steering wheel and his body was taken to Colfax.
