Mrs. Robert Tucker, longtime Elko County figure and wife of Robert Tucker, died after a pneumonia battle. The Elko native, daughter of Emanel Penrod, helped shape Nevada statehood. Her body arrives this afternoon for interment in Elko. funeral is set for tomorrow afternoon.
Portland stores cut whisky prices ahead of statewide prohibition taking effect January 1. A saloon long known for whisky has slashed prices from 12 1/2 cents to five cents as new enforcement looms.
